B.E.R.T. Bike Emergency Rescue Team and E.R.V. Emergency Response Vehicle E.R.V. & B.E.R.T.

CFD Rescue squad put two new Bikes into service known as B.E.R.T. Bike Emergency Rescue Team and an electric utility vehicle known as E.R.V. Emergency Response Vehicle. Both are used for festivals and large public events where response would be slowed by crowds and traffic, such as high school football games, and Wine and Harvest Fest. They will have many more appearances in the years to come. Funds to purchase this equipment came from rescue squad transport fees and proceeds from Maxwell Street Days fundraisers. CFD volunteers bought ERV used at a substantial discount and completely refurbished it by hand, saving taxpayers nearly $25,000 if a new vehicle was purchased. Countless hours were volunteered to painstakingly restore and craft this exceptional lifesaving vehicle.
