The Fire Suppression Company is a combination of both an Engine Company and a Ladder Company. We are committed to serving the community. Our primary purpose is saving life and protecting property. Our main duties include search and rescue, fire attack and ventilation. We also support the rescue company at vehicle fires, and extrication at vehicle accidents. We accomplish this through constant training and always looking for new methods to perform these duties.

The Fire Suppression Company has over 60 active members. We train two nights a month and the occasional Saturday. “Active fire” members are required to complete level 1 fire fighting class and pass both the written and practical state exams. They are then trained to our standard operating guidelines, which they are tested on.

We have a rich history of being a very progressive department in both our equipment and our training, dating back to 1866.

Being part of the Fire Suppression Company can be very fulfilling. We are called upon during some of the most difficult times in a person’s life… to help. It is very rewarding to be able to assist in the time of need.

The Fire Suppression Company is made up of 1 Captain, 4 Lieutenants, and 3 groups of firefighters. Firefighters are split up into three duty groups. A duty group is on every third week and is required to be available for calls from 6:00pm to 6:00am on week days and 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.
