Rescue Squad 153
Heavy Rescue Squad 153 is a 2006 Pierce on a Quantum chassis. It
is powered by a 425 horsepower Detroit Diesel and a 5-speed
Allison Automatic Transmission. It carries the Jaws of Life as
well as a variety of extrication tools, salvage and overhaul
equipment, rehab supplies, spare S.C.B.A. cylinder and the
latest medical equipment. Its powerplant includes a 30KW
hydraulic generator that helps power two 20' light towers that
put out 4500 watts each. 153 is used
for motor vehicle accidents, industrial accidents and fire
calls.
